Ready to take your glazing to the next level? This 5-hour intermediate-level workshop is designed for potters who want to explore glaze chemistry and colour in depth. Through hands-on experimentation, you’ll learn:

• The science behind colour in glazes, from matte and semi-matte to high-gloss finishes
• How different chemicals and minerals influence results — and how to choose your own ingredients
• Why colour can make or break a glaze, and how to troubleshoot when it doesn’t turn out as planned
• What’s behind each glaze ingredient and how to substitute materials effectively
• Why the same glaze can look completely different on various clay bodies

By the end, you’ll have a deeper understanding of glaze formulation and the confidence to experiment with your own recipes.

Important:

Prerequisite – You must bring 15 small bisque samples (3” each) to the workshop.
Materials – We’ll be working with high-quality, expensive glaze chemicals for precise results.
