The expenses for bisque and glaze firing covers people-power and electricity.
You will need to determine how much of a shelf your work will take up. The bisque and glace fire cost is determined by the space it takes up in the kiln. ¼, ½, or full shelf. There are shelves cut to these measurements sitting to the left of the kiln so you don’t need to estimate. You’ll be surprised how much your work takes up.
If your work doesn’t even fill ¼ of a shelf, you can ask another potter to fit in with their work or, ask Diane for an estimate. Sometimes she can squeeze pieces in around other work.
